Mr. Harold Carr started the original Carr Cabinet Doors, Inc. around 30 years ago. He was successful in growing the company by making custom cabinet doors principally for the cabinetmaking and high-end home building markets. Because of his reputation for high quality and attention to customer needs, the business grew quickly, serving custom cabinet shops and home builders from Florida to New York. Because of Mr. Carr’s failing health, the business was sold. The new owners did not share his vision, and the business was closed in 2004.
Cabinet Components Inc. was formed to acquire some of Carr Cabinets Door’s assets and resume operations as a manufacturer of cabinet doors for the markets originally served by Carr Cabinet Doors Inc. In the spring of 2004, we acquired the equipment necessary to produce cabinet doors and installed the equipment in a leased facility in Bessemer, Alabama. We produced and shipped our first order on September 20, 2004, with a five former Carr Cabinet Doors employees. Since that time, we have made substantial investments to improve our facility, upgrade equipment, and improve our workforce. As a result, we have been able to improve quality and significantly increase production capacity. These improvements allowed us to acquire the customers of a competing company during 2009, which vastly expanded our customer base’s geographic footprint and size. We are now shipping products nationally, and we continue to grow our customer base as a result of the success that we have enjoyed as we integrate these new customers into our production.
Since our beginning, we have continued to expand our capabilities. This has allowed us to increase the products offered to our principal markets, custom cabinet makers, home builders, and remodelers. The increased product offering has also enabled us to serve additional markets such as large cabinet manufacturers, commercial contractors, and historical restoration contractors. Our products are delivered on company vehicles to customers located within our established delivery routes. Products are delivered to customers located outside of our delivery area through common carriers with whom we have established service and rate agreements. These carriers are continuously monitored to assure that shipments are delivered promptly, carefully, and at a reasonable cost.
We have been successful in selling our products as a result of our ability to produce custom cabinet doors to our customers’ specifications, delivered on a timely basis. We are able to do this because of the thorough planning of our operation, including identification, acquisition, and installation of the proper equipment, in combination with the recruitment and training of a competent workforce.
We have accomplished much in our brief history and continually strive to improve and grow our business. We recently expanded to an additional manufacturing facility. Cabinet Components, Inc. is now Cabinet Component Innovations, better describing our company as we move forward with expanded product offerings.
